[resolved] Actually there are old Versions of the maps on the Server

Actually there is a problem with the versioning of the maps on the Downloadservers.
The older Maps are mirrored to the live-server instead of mirroring the maps from the live server to the backup server.

In Short: Don’t download Maps if you already have a version later than July on your mobile.

This problem should be resolved till mid of next week – unfortunately I cant resolve this by myself, the server admin of the downloadserver have to do this.

Sorry

Christian

    Oh no, not again. 🙂
I downloaded quickly when I saw Alberta was dated 2017-08-14. (I’m about to go on a little trip.)
    It’s the previous version. 🙁

Aha, today it’s the new version, thank you.

(Today I used the direct-download link on the PC; yesterday I hit the Locus button from the tablet.)

        Hi,
It takes some hours (or days) till the browser loads the new version of the page.
If you need the latest version always hit the “reload” button of the browser.
This is important especially with android cause once loaded, the browser is active in the background with old data in cache.

From my side I set the html-expiry at -1 = nocache to avoid exact this problem.

        Best regards
        Christian

Actually, it’s the other way around, isn’t it? The HTML is new (new date shown for the maps), but the downloaded ZIP is old.

I should learn to keep my excitement in check and wait a day or two. 🙂

          Many thanks regardless.

            Sorry to hear this.
It should not happen – maybe a transfer problem from my mapbox to the final Download-Server in Germany.
The problem is that OAM provides more than 500 different maps and its hard to check if every map is transfered to its final location in time.

            Best regards

    Hi.

I got a jolt of excitement when I saw the Canada maps have been updated (I check frequently). A few minutes ago I downloaded Alberta, but I see the file is still the January version; md5sum of Alberta.map matches the older one I already have.

I’d like to be sure the newest stuff is in place before I put a 1GB+ load on your servers by downloading British Columbia. Rather not do it twice. 🙂

Thanks (oh, and enjoy the dinner for two),
    VP in Alberta

      Hi,

Thanks for bringing this issue to my attention.
The maps for Alberta and Saskatchewan have’nt been updated on the downloadserver for some reasons.
I will resolve this ASAP – on 12th of March in the evening this isssue should be cleared.

      Best regards
      Christian
