Please excuse a basic question, but I am new to maps and themes.
I use both Orux and OSMand.I ask if it is possible to use these themes such as Elements and elevate in OSMAnd?
I can see on Tobias’ topic
openandromaps.org/en/oam-forums/topic/elevate-updates-and-test-versions-news
that he lists for Elevate: Locus, OruxMaps, GenericI have tried copying the .xml files into OSMAnd and selecting them
but I then get a blank map.Have I missed something basic?

As far as I know is Osmand based on OSM too – but the map and theme file-format is different.
I’m afraid that you cant use maps/themes from OpenAndroMaps with Osmand.Best regards

You have to download the Style zip file with included images and xml.
The VectorialMap Lite app is very simple and free to use for unlimited viewing of Openandromaps.
Note that the sequence for installing the maps is: Download in a browser from Openandromaps.org; unzip; send to VectorialMap Lite; add Style later within the app.
(For the Styles, don’t unzip)
I’m using iOS.
I’m not very tech savvy but can alter the Tiramisu .xml files somewhat to suit my tastes.
Some of this may help with OSMAnd or you may like to give Vectorial a try.June 5, 2017 at 13:38 #17514alienheartbeatParticipantThanks Pat100.
Probably wouldn’t use Vectorial on Android – am happy with OSMAnd,
but it looks like a good idea to try on my Linux machines.
I had been looking for a way of looking at the maps in a big screen, and had given up.Unfortunately likely August before I can get to it, so have put Vectorial in my August todo pile.

I must have missed this before, or perhaps didn’t initially give it much attention
because of the java requirement.
Will also check it in August.
It would be great to see some maps on a big screen. - AuthorPosts
