I am unsure whether the answer lies with Elevate theme or Locus Map: the size of mapping symbol – stile, gate, etc. on a way are too small for me to see to check when hiking. Locus Map icon size option seems to relate to its own icons only. I am using Elevate3_Locus_L, which I believe is the correct resolution for my Moto G 4G. I should be grateful if someone would inform me of a way to increase the symbol size for more comfortable viewing.

    In Locus, try:
Settings > Map – Advanced > Change map resolution [tick]
Settings > Map – Advanced > Set resolution [say, 1.50x]

This gives just the extra boost to the size you may be looking for.

You might also like to try Elevate 3 SVG version which scales better.

You can only change digital map zoom as John suggested, but this scales the whole map and looks not so nice.

Elevate L is meant for your kind of device (I’m also using a Moto G 3G 1st gen.), but comfortable viewing of symbol/caption size has many factors like viewing distance, eyesight, environment brightness etc. For me this size is large enough, it’s also a balance between clutter on the map, collision of symbols/captions (and therefore less visible) and size.

But as John suggested you can try the SVG version or XL. The latter has not only larger symbols, but might work for you as well.

Changing map scaling has altered in the new version of Locus (3.14.0):
Settings > Map – advanced > Increase map resolution > Enable, Set percentage > Set

    John, Tobias
I have settled on Elevate 3 XL. I thank you both for your suggestions.
