Is there anyway to get mbtiles format for World/United States in zoom 13?

    Doable? Sure.
Comparing to the (unpublished) huge European ZL 13, it might end up with about 20 GB, jpg quality of 70% for the highest level.
    Could your device handle such?

US mainland only. Rest of the World at ZL 7 or 8.

PPS: I started rendering towns and OAM background for those additional zoom levels 12 and 13 for the area
    W -132 S 22 E -51 N 53.
    Will take a while.

I am from the US, if you didn’t guess already.

Yes just the US needs to be high zoom. The rest of the world can be low zoom like you stated. Thanks for looking into that!

Out of curiosity.. how long does rendering that stuff take? I’ve read it can take some really beefy hardware to render them.

    Just had a look:
    1) the OAM background for this US/CDN rectangle for ZL 12 and 13 takes about 6 hours
    2) for 3 out of 30 degrees latitude for the US/CDN rectangle, for ZL 13, it took 3 hours already (ZL 12 is quicker, of course)
    3) above #2 is for the settlement labels only, then comes the peaks layer, and the energy layer
Hence, it will be a couple of days grand total.

Hi, here’s a magnet link for an MBTiles map with the target scope for NA, but only up to ZL 12, and some information layers missing (settlements are supposed to be complete).
    magnet:?xt=urn:btih:kdi5pimbdbehcv6pbxl36dz3r3nm3rjg&dn=OAM-W1-8-NA9-12-J80.mbtiles&xl=3979108352&fc=1
Maybe you want to have a look already.
ZL 13 is 4 times as massive, also re. computing …

Awesome. I was able to view the map in QGis on my desktop perfectly fine.

I have another question. Is there anyway to edit/tweak the style of the map on my end? I find it sometimes cluttered with all the settlement names all over. Basically I want to see if a “simpler” view is possible. I know the Elevate theme is more simple so is something similar to that possible?

Those world maps are in Easter format, so end users have no way to change their style. And on my end the settlement rendering is completely independent from OAM vector maps and their themes.
I am following the philosophy “show at least that there is something, even if names (partly) overlap”. So people are triggered to look at the next zoom level. But even with above this is a delicate balance; I know …
Do you have a particular area that you consider very painful? I do have a mechanics to define areas with lower name density. Parts of the East Coast are handled this way e.g. Or Paris, Madrid and alike.

Ok thanks. There isn’t anything in particular, more of just wondering what’s possible. I plan to display extra trails on ~ zoom level 12 and lower. But it should still work good.

    magnet:?xt=urn:btih:ol3bvj6dxuhx36osv5yzzlsjhhiydxfg&dn=OAM-W1-8-NA9-13-J70.mbtiles&xl=15147106304&fc=1
includes the ZL 13 OAM background now. The final version incl. the other layers will be not much bigger. Hence you can test now if your PC/app can handle it.

This magnet link seems to be downloading a lot slower than yesterdays. Any idea why?

I was wondering, too. My Upload is up to 100 MBit/sec
