As a result of the serious Nepal Earthquake, I think it would be appropriate to provide the possibility of providing a map offline, the most updated for all those who will work in those places for search and rescue.
In view of the fact that at this time you turned HOT (Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team) for map updates.

    Hi Christian

I am a volunteer with MapAction (www.mapaction.org) who are currently in the field in Nepal supporting the response effort from within the UN coordination centre. We have been making your excellent offline OSM files available together with Oruxmaps to people who require this.

There has been a huge amount of additional data added to Nepal thanks to the huge efforts coordinated by the HOT team. Therefore is there any chance of a further update this weekend at all to the Nepal map file? I fly out Sunday evening and can take a refreshed dataset with me (saving the limited bandwidth in the field).

    Many thanks

    Andy

Ok, map is ready for download from Google Drive:
    https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwlgvH_pGybWZXRvamU5eUZzUVE&authuser=0

..and will be available on openandromaps.org for regular download from tomorrow, Sunday 8am GMT.
Dont be confused by the creation date shown on the download page, the file behind will be the new one.

BTW: The HOT-Team did a hell of work, the map is 25MB bigger than the one from end of April.

    Best regards and good luck
    Christian

    Hi Christian

Thankyou very much for responding to this request so promptly. Very much appreciated. I have downloaded the file and it will be with me on the plane tomorrow evening to Kathmandu.

Just to say your work is very much appreciated. I have used your maps in Sierra Leone (as part of the Ebola Response), India (Landslides) for MapAction deployments and personally for my cycle touring in Europe and Cuba. These have really helped on many circumstances and is an incredibly useful resource.

Please keep up the great work.

    Many thanks again.

    Andy
