I prepared with MOBAC raster sat images offline maps with MOBAC. It’s OK in Orux. Now, I’d like to have OSM path, track and few others interesting thinks for hiking on top of my sat image. It would be a bit like when I map with JOSM with orthophotos below. What are the best way do do this ?

That’s a question which in the first place has nothing to do with OpenAndroMaps. A better forum for this is here:
    http://www.oruxmaps.com/foro/

One way to go would be composite maps in OruxMaps, use the sat maps an additional map with just the hiking routes. For the second map you could use the hiking routes from here: https://hiking.waymarkedtrails.org/
But those are only the routes.
If you want to use the OAM maps, you would have to make your own theme. Best way to start would be to use an existing theme, make the background transparent and strip everything you don’t need.

I am also interested in this. I am using a online tiled WMS map in Locus, but want to have OSM trails on top of it. I have found a Garmin map with trails only, but Locus have some serious bugs regarding Garmin map files and struggle to draw it properly. And the developer has no intention to fix it, unfortunately.

So one alternative solution could be a map from OpenAndroMaps and a theme with all background turned off.
Does anyone know of a theme like this? I don’t think we are the only two persons on this planet who wants this functionality :-)

I haven’t come across a mapstyle which is be default transparent.
I think with Tiramsu you can switch most of the background off:
Tiramisù, a theme for OpenAndroMaps with Oruxmaps and MapsForge compatible apps
It’s made for OruxMaps, but there was a conversion for LoMaps recently.
Maybe there are others like that.

I’ve done it. It’s easy. I use cruiser on PC to tune and improve m’y transparent theme which only show path and refuges. I’ll add tracks and springs Modify the XML file and presse F5 incruiser to see thé résultats.

The Tiramisu theme worked great. Thanks.

I added the possibility to switch the map background off in the latest Elevate version.
