Hi there.
As a Locus heavy user and OSM mapper I use maps from openandromaps to navigate in the open world, and I’m very thankful for the job that it’s done here. There’s one thing I would like to ask. When I go to Brazil, I have to download a huge file with 1,5 GB which is very difficult to download and use with a mobile phone.
Since Brazil is a continental country, with huge states, wouldn’t it be easier for openaandromaps and its users to divide the huge Brasil_coast file into smaller regions or even states?Best,

By the way, because recent Alberta maps have included the far SE corner of BC, I’ve had much less need to make that large download of BC. (I live in Alberta, and download that map every time.)
If it helps, I can estimate that a great majority (90%?) of BC users would be happy with the area inside the angle between Vancouver, Prince George, and Edmonton, plus Vancouver Island, not including Alberta of course.. If you decide to subdivide BC, this piece could be less than half the current size.
I’m checking twice a day now for the next update, always do after a few months go by… Many thanks for the maps, and Merry Christmas!

December 25, 2019 at 09:25 #32695ChristianKKeymasterI’m aware that these maps are huge – the countrys itself are huge 😉
I cant divide every big country into states, this would lead to countless maps (think of China, Russia,etc..) and numerous questions why I can’t combine maps. For BC: I have made a map covering Vancouver/Seattle cause I’m aware that for most people this is perfect OK.
Brazil:
If there are special areas of Interest (Nature Parks, Touristic Areas) I could provide maps for these areas – like Yellowstone NP in USA.
For map of Brazil-coast I will try if it makes sense to divide this map into _south / _north.Best regards

ChristianIt would be great if you could divide Brazil between North, West, East Coast and South.

Don’t know if I can use this post to comment an issue. Think is better then creating a new one.
I can’t install Brazil coast maps since it was split. Amazonas’ quick install it’s working great, themes and POI too.Can anyone try to replicate this?
Thanks!
