    Hi folks, love the work.

I was looking at the coverage of the Vancouver map and have a suggestion about it’s scope, especially if you’re a hiker/skier/outdoors person. There are several areas outside the range of the map that are popular places for backcountry skiing, hiking, camping, sledding, quadbikes/ATV etc. All of them are within 3 hours drive of Vancouver (in other words, relatively close, I’ve driven to everywhere shown after work on a Friday). Given that both Locus and Orux seem to target outdoor sports, I thought it might be a good idea to tip you off about them.

On the attached you can see:

    • Red Arrows + Notes: Some of the outdoor destinations that locals go to
    • Yellow line: A suggested extended boundary for the Vancouver area map that should cover them
    • Orange line: If the map is getting too large, in short, you could chop off Seattle and the Olympic Peninsula.

It’s not clear on the map, but the yellow line should include EC Manning Provincial Park

This would make the map more relevant for Vancouver area hikers and backcountry enthusiasts, as we often go beyond the current boundary (although we rarely go to the Olympic Peninsula).

Thank you for your valuable contribution especially for the detailed drawing.
The new will be available in about 36 hours.
Please check the coverage – further modifications are perfect possible.

    Best regards, Christian

    Hi Christian,

Big thanks for updating the map! I’ll check in a couple of days for an update.

If you’d like any more local knowledge on BC I’d be happy to provide it.

My next task is to learn OSM editing and then importing forestry cover for a few of the areas I listed above. :-)

Hey, I can see the update is now up on the download page. Getting it now.

One thing though, the coverage map itself appears to need an update:
    Still shows the old boundary

And now I see there is a correction :) Thanks
