Hi, new here, first of all I wanted to thank you for your excellent work!!

Currently power lines are drawn by a discontinuous line alternating with dots. At first sight one can think that those dots represent the power towers, which they don’t.
My proposal is to represent the power towers with similar dots and remove them for the power line representation, this way one can know the position of the towers themselves which can be useful for orientation purposes as those are well visible tall objects.

    Many thanks in advance.
    Regards.

    Hi Juanjo,

The tag power=tower (power tower) is not included in the maps.
Well, you are right – it might be nice for navigation (with included AND rendered „ref“ so that you can identiffy the mast/tower) but this would add 11 million towers to the map.
= increase of size and reduced rendering speed

So we decided not to include/render these towers.

    Best regards
    Christian

    Hi Christian,

I didn’t know that, fair enough.
Just out of curiosity, can you tell me how much a map will grow by adding the power towers to it?

    Regards

In the overview maps, WInd Generators are presented from ZL 10 up (11 for most of the planet, 12 for Europe), which gives a wide range orientation at least. And they are typically much higher than power towers. IF they exist in the area of interest …

I’v never tried it cause its too much for shure – at least concerning rendering speed.

    Best regards
    Christian
