    Hi Tobias.
I manage a Telegram group for OruxMaps. Today one of the members (Diego @villodie), discovered the following:
When activating the MapsForge Shading with the Elevate theme it is not displayed.
OruxMaps has 2 types of shading:
    1. MapsForge shading that only applies to MapsForge maps.
    2. General Shading: Applies to any type of online or offline map.

MapsForge shading is displayed with RenderTheme by default but not with Elevate. I made a comparison and found that Elevate is missing one line of code:

    <hillshading />

I added this line before the last line of code in Elevate and it works.
    You could review it?
Annex 2 screenshots of Elevate Original and Elevate modified with the annexation of the code line.

There’s some thing in Oruxmaps (I think) that does this automatically. I have no idea how to access it but it’s just that that line keeps getting added to my theme (probably by Oruxmaps), which makes it fail syntax check in a different app.

    Hi John.
As I wrote earlier OruxMaps has 2 types of shading. One general and the other only applicable to MapsForge.
    It works like this:
If I activate the MapsForge shading (General Settings – Maps – MapsForge Maps Settings) I can activate and deactivate it from the On-Screen Maps menu – Layers Settings. This shading is only applicable to MapsForge.
If I deactivate this option from the General Settings, the shading will be seen on all online – offline maps of any format.
Activating one of the options overrides the other.
Doing a quick comparison between the internal default RenderTheme and Elevate I found the difference between the 2, what is the lack of the line in Elevate.
I added the line and now with Elevate I can see the exclusive shading for MapsForge.
I’ll look at my other themes and yours (Voluntary) to see if it works the same way.
I just checked your theme and it doesn’t have the mentioned line of code. I’ll add it and see if it works.

    Hi Matias.
I had not read this post thread. The question arose yesterday and I did several tests.
I am glad that the subject had already been discussed. I use general shading as MapsForge shading seems to slow down the rendering of the map.
I have already added the line to the RenderThemes that I use, this line works, the option is there and I use it only when I need it.

    Thanks
    Felipe

Yes I will test it again in the next weeks, but I’m not sure if it will be added.
