I was just recently driving in Oman and it seemed for me that the map does NOT include
military=checkpointelements.Could you please check, is that really the case?
And somehow related – is there some post/wiki page/description, which has comprehensive list of items from OSM that are being included into OpenAndroMaps? I have seen a few topics requesting to add feature X or Y, but not sure about the proper full list…
Ahh, I just see, barrier=checkpoint should be shown. Unfortunately, it was not used in my country of interest.
What about checkpoints without a physical barrier? The police look down from a tower or something and fish out some of the drivers a few metres away for inspection. The German mobile checkpoints on the border with Poland, for example, are not shown either.

Ok, the German Checkpoints are not mapped, so they could not be shown.
In which part of the world does exist a barrier=checkpoint?
I tried half of Africa and have not found one. But Africa is full of checkpoints.
About 500 could be found with police=checkpointElevate doesn’t render barrier=checkpoint, I probably didn’t add it because its meaning is not defined/unclear. police=checkpoint and military=checkpoint are defined, so maybe it’s better to not transform them to an undefined tag?

Right, I add
police=checkpoint and military=checkpoint
to tagmapping.
Cant do it via EQ cause this stupid thing is tagged wrong = key<>value wrong way round.
In TagTransform there is no way to bulk excange key>value.removed barrier=checkpoint.
How early do you want to see them?

I don’t have an urgent need at the moment, Most probably I won’t be going to Afrіca again this year.

Checkpoints often have a low density, so it would be nice to see them already on maps where Locus shows the 10km scale bar.
Here I have an example of a ~700km journey with all checkpoints shown for an area where I think the density of checkpoints is high.:aktualy the checkpoints are included ZL8 – ZL10 depending on map.
Africa most likely at ZL9ZL 8 ist upper Limit cause of limits with BaseZoomLevels
These Nodes are currrently not rendered in Elevate/Elements!
In the UK checkpoints seen to be mainly mapped at the entrance to military sites and are of little relevance at low zoom levels.

Of course, an entry check to a military or police area is of little importance at low zoom levels.
But every driver and every passenger has to pass through my street checkpoints, and that is important. Your journey may end here, or you may have to pay, or something else. May be you are able to avoid some of the checkpoints using another way.
