Hello,
i have some problems loading POI v5 in OruxMaps (lastest release downloaded by play store) and also in Mapsforge-for-QMapShack, can’t load POI.But if i dowload a file from old POI version from https://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/misc/openstreetmap/openandromaps/pois/ORUX_old/ i can load it.
can anyone help me using v5?

Hello what problem do you have concretely? I use the poisv3 (v5 is the version of Mapsforge Maps if I’m not mistaken)
I use both the Mapsforge and OAM files.What version of OruxMaps do you use? Only updated versions recognize Pois V3
I understand that the procedure you follow is as follows:
1 Unzip Zip
2 Move the map file and pois to oruxmaps /mapfiles . (you have to take into account what storage the app is using)
The poi file that corresponds to oruxmaps is Name-map _oam.osm.poi
The other file is for locus.
If you are going to use the pois file with the OAM map you do not need further configuration.Here is a guide on the use of pois in OruxMaps in case it is helpful
My procedure is automatic, i use oruxmaps download button orux-map://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/misc/openstreetmap/openandromaps/mapsV5/europe/Alps.zip, so app download zip, dezip file and place .map .db and .poi in the right folder.
But oruxmaps can’t open .poi.
But if i manul download poi from https://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/misc/openstreetmap/openandromaps/pois/ORUX_old, i can open file and use poi.

I have the same problem with qmapshack using the original file distributed in the openandromaps zip, but not with the old poi version.

Thats really strange – the .poi file in the combined zip is exact the same as the seperate on gwdg server.
Just tested this again…
