@Tobias: Thanks for the info. I’d tried SVGCleaner but wasn’t sure of the appropriate settings and I found Locus didn’t display the processed files. By the way, your s_doityourself.svg appears to display only one of the tools in Atlas.

I use also the SVGCleaner with fine results.

Unfortunately we use different SVG renderers in Mapsforge for Android and Java (as they are platform dependent).
It’s worth mentioning that generally they support the Tiny SVG specification.

Anyway, I have tracked down the errors in the themes and symbols, and present them again. I have also made residential roads not appear until higher zooms to help speed the redrawing of the display especially in busy cities where there is a lot of mapping data. That also makes the map less cluttered at low zooms.

I have added style support to the Locus version for latest version of the Locus Maps app. (Sorry, not for Cruiser, Atlas etc yet) You can choose Hiking, Cycle, City, Road, or Multi style when you select the Voluntary UK theme. The City style is aimed at use in large cities such as London and has a less cluttered (and slightly faster) display at zoom levels 14 and below. Also included in the Voluntary Locus zip package is Voluntary png which is another scalable theme but using png bitmaps rather than svg vector images, which conceivably might work better for some users (no style variations though) and Voluntary bugfix, which reduces the extent of unwanted rendering artefacts. Unfortunately this is not scalable and roads will appear too thin on high resolution devices.

I’ve made use of Lightning theme from Tobias to produce Velocity for Locus, which is visually similar to the Voluntary themes but draws much faster. I’ve included it in the Voluntary Locus zip package
