Hello,
Have you documented the workflow for how you create the maps?
I’d like to learn in more detail about how it all works, with an aim to understanding how you’d go about adding Ordnance Survey 10m contour lines and/or crag details for UK maps (as mentioned in a recent thread). I think this would be worthwhile and would like to understand the complexity.
So far I have:
1) downloaded .osm data
2) run osmosis to create a .map file
which I can load in to cruiser.
But I’m can see there are many other steps. Some are mentioned at https://www.openandromaps.org/map-basics-2/tag-mapping and https://www.openandromaps.org/en/map-basics-2/tagtransform but I wondered if there was more detail documented, along with other steps? Apologies if this is published and it’s just I haven’t discovered it.
Thanks

This is a quite complicated prozess involving a lot of filtering and transforming data.
Especially for resolving Hike/Cycle Relations, working around bugs and limitations of MapsforgeWriter and OSMfilter/OSMconvert aso…AND: working around more and more stupid mapping in OSM…..
Even if someone would have my production machine (PC) it would be close to impossible to make maps with all bells_N_whistles like OAM.
Currently I’m working to simplify this prozess so that OAM could survive when something goes wrong with me.
