Hi everybody

I didn’t find any explication about some acronyms text I found on the new elevate cycling routes, except for the colours (see screenshot; e.g.: „MV“, that before in some section was „VR“, and I realised was: „Via Romea“, „MWW“, etc). The only one I understand is „EV“ (Euro Velo). Can I find some explanatory section somewhere about these cycling route acronyms I find on Mapsforge?

Usually these Shortnames are the REF Tags of the Relations in Openstreetmap.
Well, usually…

If no ref Tag is present I try to assemble the shortnames by the capital Letters of the NAME tag of the route (relation)

This worked quite OK until some mappers decided to cross reference relations till no one can be shure whats going on.

This was the main reason why I stopped OpenAndroMaps for several Months.
There are no rule acepted by some mappers and no one stopps this unpleasant situation.
So we have to live with this.
