What do you think? I’d love to include them into a theme. Maybe including speed+direction… https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/DE:Tag:highway%3Dspeed_camera

That would be illegal in some countries.
I understand that even having the information on your device is against the law in France for example.

I know – but it would require a theme to display it. And a theme can offer an option. I see there’s some movement in that field. E. g., in Germany – users of course do not care.
Display of speed limit went into Google Maps app.

There are so many APPs and ADD-Ons handling Speed-Traps.
IMO No need to include it here.

    Best regards

POI should be a better place to include them?

Mapsforge POI also include them (poi-mapping).

And what’s the use for hiking and cycling (even racing bikes don’t have vehicle registration plate AFAIK) anyway 🙂

The use? One App instead of two or three, in case you do not start from home, but carry your bike und/or yourselves in a car :-))

I never used a hiking map on paper to get there… OAM is specialized for hiking and cycling, there are apps that are specialized for navigating with a car. Of course one can wish for an all-in-one solution, but that’s not my goal for OAM.
