I’m pretty shure that Menion will stay with his format.
    However – I never asked him – so….

When ORUX switches to V3 then I will provide V3 + Locus format.

I’m pretty shure that Locus will use its own format.
However, better ask Menion on Locus-Forum.

OruxMaps has integrated support for V3 in the latest Beta.

Menion meanwhile commented on Sonny’s request in the Locus forum: Locus will continue its own db format (as it includes information beyond POIs)

I do not see the OpenAndroMaps POI updated to v3 format?

I downloaded Andorra and its poi has not the new format.
It also has extra tables (not remembering them in Mapsforge specification)?

Is ORUX free version ready for V3?
    Thats the question…

When ORUX Free is ready I will provide V3 pois for Mapsforge.

Neueste, gute Infos vom Orux-Support: “The Google Play version does not support poi v3 yet. It will be ready in a few days and will be updated with the free version.”

    V3 pois are available here

    https://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/misc/openstreetmap/openandromaps/poiV3/

Please test these new pois – I’v changed nothing but the the PoiWriter to V3, POI-Mapping is still the same WITH the pseudo multiple assignements of tags to groups.
So far these multi assignements did only work in ORUX and I’m pretty shure that I will assign only one tag to one group in future if this feature is still not supported officially in Mapsforge.

The downloads of the maps still contain the V2 POIs – if the V3 are confirmed to be OK I will switch to V3 Pois included in the map-zips

    Best regards
    Christian

Thanks Christian, I tested them on Cruiser and they seem ok.

Do you use the latest snapshot version of poi-writer?
    It contains poi improvements.

    > this feature is still not supported officially in Mapsforge

I’m always available in Mapsforge to discuss new features
and above all to check pull requests from the community!

I tested them with the latest Oruxmaps beta, working fine.

Seems to be the case, at least lat lon indexes are there.
