ParticipantHello,
I use an Android app when I go paragliding which is based on OpenandroMaps.
I can choose which map to install, but there is no way to add POIs to the map through this app.
Would there be a way with an application like Locus to merge a POI file with the map file?
Regards

ModeratorThe themes for OAM allow a number of POI types to be switched on or off.
Personal POIs or such beyond OAM come from a database that needs to be handled by an app.
What source of POIs are you talking about?December 28, 2021 at 23:26 #46607sergio777
ParticipantI am talking about POIs such as landing or take-off areas, the coordinates of which are known to paragliders. it is then easy to turn it into a POI file which can be viewed on a map using an icon.

ParticipantYou mean that it is possible to directly integrate these lists of coordinates into an existing theme?

ModeratorThemes can only display what is in maps. OAM maps can only contain what is in the worldwide OSM database.
And then comes the selection and mapping.
Paragliding is not really in scope.
So, the proper way is to enhance that app so it can work with additional data coming on top of OAM.
The app does the integration of such special data, not OAM nor themes.December 28, 2021 at 23:45 #46613mbe57
ModeratorWell, you can build your own maps by using the OSM toolset. So you can select and put in or leave out whatever you want.
But I think your app provider is the proper way to go.
Because that POI database plus app feature is flexible.
Building your own maps can feed such information into the building process, but that is painful.
Your app should allow for import of POIs a d user input on the fly.December 28, 2021 at 23:50 #46619sergio777
ParticipantOK this is clear for me now, thanks a lot !!!
