In recent days, controversy has grown around the proposal to change the primary key for archaeological sites.
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Key:archaeological_site
“It is proposed to change the main key for archaeological sites from site_type=* to archaeological_site=*. This would apply to about 113,000 items.”
The new OpenStreetMap forum has been active in the last few days around 2 threads=

https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/massenedit-von-site-type-zu-archaeological-site-diskutiert-und-abgesprochen/6577/40
Mass key editing has already started and has been buggy, resulting in a series of changeset reverts.
Could MapsForge OAM production be affected?
Could Elevate rendering be affected?
Is there any contingency for what appears to be the start of a series of mass edits and reverts?@afgb1977
January 21, 2023 at 16:07 #52464TobiasKeymasterWe only have the primary tag historic=archaeological_site in OAM, so this won’t change anything.
But thanks for informing, we can’t actively monitor all tags and changes in tagging customs.Developer of Elevate mapstyle
