    Hi,

a year or so ago, the tag parking=street_side has been approved by OSM community and its usage is growing rapidely, specially in Europe.

Currently, Elevate theme display them in the same way as other parking areas. As a result, In areas where those are densely mapped the map is somehow cluttered.

    The same goes for parking=lane

Would it be possible to render them in a less proeminent way, ie as OSM carto does?

    Thanks

At the moment it’s not possible, as only the main tag amenity=parking is contained in the maps, but not parking=street_side and parking=lane; every amenity=parking is rendered the same.

To make proper rendering possible, those still missing sub-tags of amenity=parking should be added to the maps:
    – parking=surface
    – parking=street_side
    – parking=lane

parking=underground and parking=multi-storey are already included.

should be added to the maps:
    – parking=surface
    – parking=street_side
    – parking=lane

    Done

Hmm… I’ve added parking=street_side and parking=lane to my theme and it only seems to work for nodes, not ways/areas.

Have only nodes been mapped through for parking?

Not according to the tag-mapping, it’s there for both ways and nodes:

Whoops, my bad, I was trying g to highlight where they are using Circle command, which only works for nodes 🙂
