EmuxParticipantTesting with Cruiser on Android or Desktop, the theme seems to load fine.
Are they using the latest VTM or does it happen in a specific region?
VTM can read Mapsforge dashed lines, although it’s better to use its native theme rules.

Cruiser and Mapsforge developer – https://github.com/devemux86/cruiserTesting with c:geo nightly VTM map and OAM Germany map. Selected map region seems to be irrelevant. I then tested a random map – Botswana in this case – and getting the same error.
Workaround could be a “height = min(height, 0.1)” in XmlThemeBuilder.

EmuxParticipantAlso the Botswana map can be loaded with Voluntary or Velocity theme.
In any case I created an issue in c:geo repository: https://github.com/cgeo/cgeo/issues/15035

JohnPercyParticipantLatest update removes a workaround that is unnecessary with the latest maps. This now gives a better display if a bike or hike route runs along a major road.

JohnPercyParticipantLatest version now includes cattle grids and police or military checkpoints. The rendering of pedestrian areas and ways is now clearer, with a hatched pattern.

JohnPercyParticipantLatest version now available from link below.
Changes: Hide obtrusive gates that are not on paths, tracks etc at low zooms. Improved logic on access restrictions on paths. Improved rendering and legibility of suburb and farm names. Removed a number of persistent bugs.Voluntary and Velocity themes - https://voluntary.nichesite.org

JohnPercyParticipantThe latest version has some significant changes.
– I’ve added emojis to style menus to provide visual clues when selecting options.
– Changed caption colours and intensities to help manage visual clutter caused by over-mapping in certain areas. The subtly different colours help to restore a sense of order to an otherwise cluttered map.
– Also altered zoom-appear levels for peaks, emergency access points and some other items for the same reason.
– Added new symbol for customer toilets.
– Despite my best efforts it is increasingly difficult to satisfactorily resolve the differences between OAM maps and LoMaps. Although Voluntary LE continues to work well on both OAM and LoMaps, I have added an OAM-specific theme for Locus.

That’s something I find annoying, too, and have on my to do list. Overmapping and the clutter as a result devalues great working solutions from some years ago…

JohnPercyParticipantSome examples I encountered were every field being named in Co. Cork, Ireland including a field named “The field with no name” and 180,000 emergency access points added in Navarre, Spain.

JohnPercyParticipantNew versions of the Voluntary themes are now available.
Main points:
– Improved visibility of paths.
– Added option to Hiking overlay to further increase visibility and clarity of paths, especially in mountain areas with close contours, UK crags and 3d shading on.
– Show wilderness huts/alpine huts with permissive access (bug).
– Rationalise the display of bike access on service roads and pedestrian ways so markings are unobtrusive and work the same for both.
– Various other cosmetic improvements to the display.
